artsy fartsy

School is hectic. (heh, what else is new?) But, that's alright. I've been catching up with my friend and I really do miss talking to her. All of our conversations bounce from one subject to another... from boys and the 'perfect' future husband, to school, our future jobs, clothes, and the general gossip. Today, we talked about our personalities (among other things) and the future job that would match it. I was told that I give off a very 'artsy fartsy' vibe. Now, I do like the 'artsy' stuff...but I never knew that I gave off such a strong vibe of it. hmm, I guess you learn something new everyday.

Well, this is my outfit of the day. I'm currently watching Glee and just got sucked into an emotional Noah Puckerman moment. Anywayy..

late starts yet long days

Today we had a late start schedule at school today, so I got one extra hour of sleep. It felt so good to sleep in just a bit. I've been busy with school work and it has only been a couple weeks into school. Things are starting to become routine again and it's a little mundane, but the funny moments in each period has kept things interesting. Waking up in the morning and hearing the alarm buzz, my first thought is always, "not again.....morning already?" From there, the day drags on in six, fifty seven minute classes. (Today, forty five...yet it felt as long as a regular day.)

But, enough of my complaining. This is what I wore today. The shorts were given to me by my aunt. I just think they are the cutest thing. And the sweater my mom picked out for me in the mall. It just so happened to be the last one in my size and it was on sale for around 10 dollars! I love it when that happens. (:

On the more fun moments of my day, I spent after school with a couple of my friends, listening to two of my guy friends jam out on guitar, and trying to get one of them to sing (for we have never heard him sing before). But, after 30 minutes of stalling and tons of laughs, we were unsuccessful. (no worries, we'll get him to sing one day. muahahha. then we'll talk him into joining the talent show later on this year, since my other guy friend and I did it last year and are planning to this year.)

Then, I went home...buried myself in homework and now I'm waiting for the premiere of X Factor and the newest episode of America's Next Top Model. Well, I've rambled enough now. I hope you all are doing well. Take care! (:

fall wants

fall wants

These are the main things on my want list for fall. I am super excited for the cooler weather. I love fall/winter fashion and prefer it over summer fashion. I can't wait for all the thick knits, jackets, and all the layering!

I really want some more sweaters and thick knit cardigans because I feel like they are a fool proof way to look stylish and stay warm. I also want some more scarves. I can't express how much I love scarves. In my opinion, I feel like they can add a special touch to any fall/winter outfit. So, I'm definitely excited to go shop for more scarves. Boots are an essential, so those are musts. I've been wanting a denim button-up for the longest time!! I think they are a staple in any girl's closet. Last, but not least, a pair of dark brown oxford flats! I already have a cream pair and I love them, so I really want a pair in dark brown to wear with my fall outfits. (:

What's on your fall wishlist?

flowy tops and compliments

blouse and shorts: Forever21
This is what I wore today.

I got a ton of compliments on this blouse and I'm glad because I absolutely love it!! (My friend said, "your outfit is very boho korean girl!" thanks.....I guess.. hahah.) I absolutely love it when people compliment me on my clothes - it always brightens up my day. I do my best to compliment at least one person a day because I feel it gives that person an extra boost of confidence, and who wouldn't want that? I catch myself thinking "oh that's a really cute shirt" or "her hair looks amazing today" and never say it to the person. So, that's why I put an effort to compliment people. When you project positivity, you take in more of the positive things in life.

Geeze, why am I such a cheese ball? haha, oh well.. life is better with clichés and cheesy-ness anyway. hahah Hope you all are doing well! Take care! (:

Back to School

School started for me yesterday and it was surprisingly more pleasant than I thought it would be. I came to school, not very optimistic. It didn't feel like I was starting a new year; It felt like I was going back to school after  a long weekend. But, when I went into my classes I liked all my teachers and felt like it wasn't going to be all that bad. My pre-calculus teacher is also my physics teacher and I think she's awesome! I also really like my A.P. U.S. History teacher. He reminds me of those cheery, old grandfathers in animated movies with his glasses, receding hairline and awesome mustache. haha.

This was today's outfit. I had to wear my club t-shirt on the first day of school, so that's why there's no outfit post. I was originally going to wear this outfit on the first day anyway, so yeahhh. haha. (:

dress: H&M; denim vest: DIY-ed; sandals: Sears
bracelet: H&M
Black liner (used to tightline): Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero; Green 'eyeliner': Urban Decay Mildew eyeshadow; Mascara: Covergirl LashBlast Volume
I wore this makeup look today and got tons of compliments. My friends would do a double-take and ask me, "Are you wearing green eyeliner?" before proceeding to say that it looks cool on me. I love wearing different colored eyeliners, especially green because it makes my eyes look super brown. (LOL, you can see the reflection in my eye.)

I'm pretty sure this year is going to be interesting. Lots more hard classes and lots of homework and effort. But, I know this year is going to teach me lots of new things, and it's definitely going to be a year of change. Good change. I realized yesterday when I was walking around on campus that I walked with a different stride and strut. A walk that was a lot more confident than the walk last year's Theresa possessed. I stood taller and straighter and I felt good about myself. It's time to kick it into full gear and start studying and getting good grades and go through a ton of self-discovery. High School definitely is a time of growth and I'm starting to see that growth.

I hope everyone that is in school has a great school year and good luck with all of your studies! Take care! (:

Lazy Day Enjoyment

School starts in two days and I am not exactly what you would call ready. It's crazy how fast time goes by. This summer has been one of the more fun summers I've had in a while. I didn't exactly go anywhere for a true vacation, but I think it's the fact that I was more productive with my time which made it a lot more enjoyable.

To make the most of my last two days of summer, I decided to stay home and enjoy the last few lazy, summer days. Today, I baked some cookies and made fresh passion fruit drink for myself. My friend also came over for a couple hours before her tennis practice. That's all I plan to do today: eat cookies, drink passion fruit juice, and enjoy my air conditioned house. (I heard it's super hot outside! 93 degrees? Yikes!)

Quick Getaway

My brother, sister-in-law, nephew, mom, and I all took a trip to Pachanga: Casino and Resort. My brother won an online raffle, so we got to stay one night for free. My mom and I actually found about it last minute, so we threw the essentials for a one day, one night trip into a tote bag and a backpack an hour before we left. The hour long drive was spent trying to get my nephew to sleep. Eventually he went to sleep and we arrived to our destination.

We spent our time there laying in the fluffy, feather-filled comforters and pillows, making ourselves complementary coffee, soaking in the pool and jacuzzi, and engorged ourselves with the vast variety of delicious food at the buffet. It was a quick...uhm, vacation? If you could call it that. Nevertheless, it was nice to have a change of atmosphere and relax before school starts again on Thursday. (School already? Where did the summer go?)

Before we left this morning, I bought a dream catcher from the gift shop. I've been wanting one for a while and I just had to have it. There were two other colors that I wanted to get, but I stopped myself and only got one. These dream catchers are just beautiful, aren't they? Now it's proudly hanging above my bed, ready to catch all the bad dreams I might have.

It was a fun trip, but it's great to be back home.
