It's currently prom season, and girls are frantically searching for that "perfect" dress to wear on prom night. I was recently introduced to this website called *maxstudio.com*, and as I was browsing the dresses, many of them caught my eye. So I compiled all the dresses I would possibly wear for prom (if I was going to prom haha).

My favorite dresses are the ones with one simple color scheme (such as black haha), yet have interesting silhouettes, fabric texture, and details like straps and flowy chiffon panels. Girls tend to go really flashy and over the top for their prom dresses with the typical satin maxi dresses with sequin or jewel detailing. I personally think that a simpler dress is more elegant.

Wearing a simple dress with interesting details and silhouettes will actually stand out amongst the sparkling dresses and shiny fabrics for it's something not everyone is wearing and will actually be more eye-catching.

Now I'm curious, what did/are you wear(ing) for your prom? (what would you if you didn't/haven't?) (:

all pressed up in black and white

blazer: my mom's; collared blouse: forever 21; jeans: american eagle; shoes: sears
nars light reflecting setting powder; bite lipstick in pastille lavender

Dressed up all dapper in black and white. Nothing like a business casual outfit to make one feel professional and empowered. Who knew a pair of classic heels and a blazer can make one feel so sophisticated?

Went to the mall yesterday and roamed around Sephora with my good friend, Hilary. Bought the NARS light reflecting setting powder I've been wanting for a while now, and I found the *~*perfect*~* shade of purple lipstick that I've been wanting.

you are my sunshine

sweater, skirt, and boots: forever 21

Life is currently hectic. I wish spring break was back. I miss the endless days of being a sloth and being as unproductive as a stick of cold butter.

On the bright side, graduation is getting closer and closer!

inspiration: spring cleaning

black
whites

I'm generally a get-straight-to-the-point type of gal. I like simplicity and being easy-going. So why not translate that more into my style? Now, don't get me wrong, I do enjoy my slice of ambiguity and all things crazy, wild, and wonderful; however, sometimes a clean, crisp, and simple style really hits the spot.

I've been completely inspired by the monochromatic and minimalistic look lately; and I want to adopt a more minimal style: one with less fuss and simpler pieces.  Sometimes I get lazy with my style, yet I still want to look put-together, so I end up forcing myself to think long and hard about compiling a good outfit. By incorporating more basic items into my closet, it will be easier to just throw on something quickly and still look pretty darn put-together.

This doesn't mean I want to cut out all color and pattern from my wardrobe; I just want to mix in more basic colors (black and white), classic pieces, and simple silhouettes. The details count: tasteful cutouts, strappy detailings, and different textures and layers can add more character to otherwise basic pieces.

So I guess it's time to save up some cash for a new wardrobe and do some spring style cleaning.

short on spring

white sweater: forever 21; necklace: ebay; watch: michael kors; floral shorts: thrifted; boots and socks: forever 21

If I could live in these floral shorts, I would.

It hasn't been as spring-like as I want it to be. It's April, I would like it to be a tad warmer, please! On the bright side, this week is going by pretty quickly, which means spring break is just around the corner!! *~*yaaaaaay*~*

I hope you all are doing well. Take care!
