It's currently prom season, and girls are frantically searching for that "perfect" dress to wear on prom night. I was recently introduced to this website called *maxstudio.com*, and as I was browsing the dresses, many of them caught my eye. So I compiled all the dresses I would possibly wear for prom (if I was going to prom haha).

My favorite dresses are the ones with one simple color scheme (such as black haha), yet have interesting silhouettes, fabric texture, and details like straps and flowy chiffon panels. Girls tend to go really flashy and over the top for their prom dresses with the typical satin maxi dresses with sequin or jewel detailing. I personally think that a simpler dress is more elegant.

Wearing a simple dress with interesting details and silhouettes will actually stand out amongst the sparkling dresses and shiny fabrics for it's something not everyone is wearing and will actually be more eye-catching.

Now I'm curious, what did/are you wear(ing) for your prom? (what would you if you didn't/haven't?) (:

float on (feat. msdressy)

This custom made dress I received msdressy.com makes me feel like a fairy or a garden nymph or something to that effect. I love the airiness, the way it flows, the gorgeous jewel details~ Wearing this dress is definitely a Princess Diaries moment.

Now, I may not be completely sold on the idea of going to prom, but it is nice to have a dress just in case I decide to change my mind. heh.

xx Huge thanks to my friend Hilary for taking the photos for me!

valentine's day gift ideas - feat. pandora jewelry

valentines day

Top 5 present ideas for Valentines
With so much choice on the high street, here’s our top five picks to spoil your loved one this valentine’s day....
  1. A beautiful bunch of flowers! You don’t have to go down the traditional route of roses, but buying your special someone a lovely bunch of flowers may at first seem like a cliché, but sometimes it nice to receive a traditional gift – it instantly makes us feel loved and loved up!
  2. A gorgeous pair of Silver earrings! You cannot go wrong with a pair of silver earrings – they are classic, go with everything, and are a real treat. When a girl receive a gift like this, they feel so very special – they get a great present and feel very loved that their partner has gone out and brought them something they will actually wear and treasure
  3. A romantic meal in your favourite restaurant. This is a perfect treat come valentine’s day and going back to one of your favourite restaurants may not feel  very ‘special’, but with this familiar trip comes a whole load of memories of all the lovely times you have spent their together. What an easy way to get in the romantic mood. Why not buy her indulgent box of chocolates to give as a gift at the table? That way you have something to keep the romance going when you get home
  4. If you can find out the correct size covertly, buying lingerie and getting it right is a perfect gift for Valentine’s Day. Make your loved one feel sexy and special with a trip to their favourite lingerie store or somewhere they would love to shop but don’t normally. This will ensure you have a valentine’s day to remember!
  5. If you don’t want to buy anything obviously connected to Valentine’s Day, why don’t you book some tickets to either go away for a weekend or tickets to see a theatre show? This way you’re not just giving them a gift, you’re giving the invaluable present of a new experience together and a chance to make lasting, special memories.
Whatever you decide to buy your special someone this February 14th, make sure your partner feel special and loved. You don’t have to spend a fortune to achieve this – you could even make your gift – just ensure you take time to think about what they might love to receive or experience.

if i was a rich girl...

Hello!! You might've noticed that I haven't posted in FOREVER. Well, to update you all, I recently got a job and with school starting soon, I haven't been able to post! But no worries, once school starts, I'll be posting a lot more outfits and stuff (since I actually have somewhere to go to dress up....haha lazy summer!)

Moving on... I've been browsing this website called Harrods, and they have amazing designer stuff. If I had a lot of money to splurge on a daily basis, I would definitely buy some of these things. *O* They have designers like Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, Mulberry, and much more!

Soooooo, I've compiled a bunch of stuff that I'm completely lusting over. If only I had the $$$ to buy every one of these things...#materialisticproblems hahah

wants

I absolutely love YSL packaging; it's so luxurious and beautiful!! My friend owns a Rouge Volupt lipstick, and it's absolutely gorgeous!! I believe every girl should own at least one YSL lipstick in their lifetime -- especially one in a daring color!
Shop YSL here: http://www.harrods.com/brand/yves-saint-laurent

The Mulberry Alexa bags have been crazy popular the past few years, and I absolutely love it. I'm not much of a bag person; I prefer smaller, cross-body bags, so the cross-body Alexa is perfect!! ...Sigh...one day.......
Shop Mulberry: http://www.harrods.com/brand/mulberry

The Alexander McQueen scarves are so gorgeous; the print is beautiful, the material is beautiful.. gah! So pretty *O* AND HOW AMAZING IS THAT BOX CLUTCH?! It's definitely a statement piece that I would love to own. (:
Shop Alexander McQueen: http://www.harrods.com/brand/alexander-mcqueen

What items do you love from Harrods? Which are ones that you would love to own one day or on your splurge wish list? I would love to hear your picks! (:

Take care!

Gladiator Sandals

Hello all! (: I've recently received an article from an online website that I would like to share with you. This article will be talking about the gladiator sandal trend that has been in style for many summers. Below are a couple of my summer gladiator sandal picks from this online site.
gladiator sandals

"Gladiator sandals roar back into fashion!

Once popular with hippy types, the latest incarnation of gladiator sandals are once again set to rank as a style staple.

With an array of celebrities rocking this look, it is no wonder that the gladiator sandal is proving to be this season’s go-to footwear choice.

Those that wish to be comfortably stylish need not look any further than a pair of gladiator sandals. Their many straps and flat soles make them the perfect choice for both city living and beach attire, whether you choose to dash around town, take a leisurely stroll along the shoreline or dance the night away.

Gladiators are a simple way to add a little ‘sass’ to an otherwise low-key outfit. They also allow you to show off your summer pedicure in style. You can wear these sandals with anything from skinny jeans and statement smocks to ‘cutesy’ shorts and summer dresses. They do tend to look a little better when worn with bare legs, so if the weather permits, get those pins out!

Leather versions are a great option for anyone intending to wear their gladiator sandals all day long. A dressier option comes in this season’s metallic styles; which can be worn with elegant maxi dresses and smart shorts.

Metallic versions tend to be more flattering to the figure, especially if you are lucky enough to possess a petite frame.

One thing is for sure; the style council appear to have an unwavering appetite for both Roman-style sandals and gladiator boots. Various styles are currently hitting the highstreet and online stores in a big way.

This year’s styles have undergone a little re-vamp since last year and appear less chunky and more feminine, making gladiator sandals an extremely versatile footwear choice.

They are the perfect summer holiday shoes, not only because they take up little space in your suitcase, but also because they will most likely go well with every outfit packed.

The quickest way to get ‘on trend’ this summer is to invest in a pair of statement gladiator sandals. With so many styles available, there is bound to be a pair to flatter your body shape perfectly!

If you can’t decide on just the one pair, why not invest in a few different styles? This way you will have one look for the daytime and another for an evening on the tiles. Choose a chunkier strap in a leather fabric for a casual look and a metallic style with thinner straps for a dressier occasion.
