4 dollar makeup haul
I went to Rite-Aid with my friends a couple of days ago because we had an early dismissal and wanted to go buy some things. My friends went earlier on in the week and all Wet N' Wild cosmetics were on sale, so we all decided to go get some more things~
I got 3 lipsticks (more lipsticks *O* heh.) and an eyeshadow trio! Everything was 40% off....so cheap!!!!
The eyeshadow trio I got is called "silent treatment." I wanted another palette called "walking on eggshells" but they didn't have anymore in stock! ):
Gorgeous colors; a nice pinky-peach champagne color; a blackened brown with gold and bronze glitter; and a grey-taupe with purple tinge.
The three lipsticks I got were "dark wine" (522A), 'cinnamon' (509A), and 'hot paris pink' (520E).
522A/dark wine was a color I wanted because of Jenn from 'clothesencounters.' I thought the color looked gorgeous on her and was a nice vampy color for the fall time! I originally planned to get this in the fall since these lipsticks are only 99 cents, but since it was 40% off I decided to take the sale opportunity up and buy it now!
509A/cinnamon. I was debating between two reds and this is the one my friends helped me pick. It's a gorgeous color!
520E/hot paris pink was a color that my friends saw when they went earlier in the week. They thought it would look nice on me, so they got me to buy it! It's a nice pink color; it's said to be dupes of many different mac lipsticks!
Swatches (top to bottom): 522A/dark wine; 509A/cinnamon; 520E/hot paris pink
The grand total was $3.84!!! Crazy cheap!! They're all good quality products -- especially considering how cheap they are!! They're all well-pigmented products! 59 cents for a lipstick is absolutely unbelievable! These products at original pricing are already inexpensive, but with the discount, the price was even better!!
I am a happy camper~ Seriously though...I need to stop with the lipsticks. Only because they were on sale....... The purchases are completely justifiable. ^____~ heh.
I am enjoying my summer so far. Sleeping in, doing nothing...... haha. It's all wonderful. (: Even though I had to go to school today to meet with yearbook/journalism kids, I'm so glad school ended! Hope you all are having a great summer so far!
Take care!

don't forget the lyrics!
Ahh this week has been crazy busy, so I haven't gotten a chance to post until now. With my AP. U.S. History project due and my club things and I was called a day before the talent show to perform, I had a lot on my plate! So, from a previous post, I said that I didn't make the auditions for talent show, but since they didn't have enough acts for the show, they called me back the day before the show asking me if I wanted to perform...and crazy me...I accepted!! My friend and I frantically pulled together an act and I totally blanked out on the lyrics to my song while performing! hahah!!! BUT! I saved myself by stating..."WAIT. I have the lyrics on my phone!!!" and ~whipped~ out my phone and sang again. hahah. Our school assistant principal told me the next day.. "the lyrics and phone thing....was priceless." Ah..you know.. I live to embarrass myself for other's entertainment... HAHA!
Besides the forgetting of lyrics, I thought I did pretty well and had a ton of fun~ No regrets~ whatever happens, happens! ^__^ Well, other than the school work and the talent show.. I had to interview applicants for my club and that was fun! Now I'm just trying to finish all my homework and projects and get through this next week...and then SPRING BREAK~~ yay!
Now onto the outfit! (:
collared shirt: h&m; necklaces: diy & vintage; knit sweater top: pacsun; shorts: diy;
I also went to target yesterday and my aunt bought me some makeup stuff.. I'm always buying stuff... i know it's bad...but...i can't resist the makeup aisle!!!! everything's just so....pretty *O* (darn you, marketing techniques!!) I'm running out of space to store my makeup... heh.. oh well....
I bought Loreal's infallible eyeshadow in "eternal sunshine" (LOVE gold eyeshadow~), N.Y.C. lipstain in "Rock on Ruby," Rimmel lipstick in "airy fairy," and Revlon Colorstay nail polish in "spanish moss."
Airy Fairy is a nice pink-nude color and I didn't have a color like this, so I decided to pick it up! I don't know why I keep wanting to buy lipsticks........ I have accumulated a good amount of them over the past few months... I just..couldn't...resist!! And the ironic thing is.. I'm not much of a lip product person either.. I get lazy to reapply.. but I just love lipsticks! Maybe the small collection I'm creating will help motivate me to use them more often~
Spanish Moss is a pretty khaki green color. I've been wanting a color like this for a while, so i decided to pick it up while I was at target! I'm super impressed with the formula! It's opaque in one coat and dries super quick! Also.. it was reasonably priced at $4 and some odd cents! (:
Well, this week has been crazy packed, so I'm glad I got the chance to squeeze in a blog post! (: The next two months with preparing for the SATs and AP testing is going to be crazy hectic, so I'm just truckin' on through with the work load and trying to manage my time as well as I can. My friend and I are planning this awesome, separate outside project that I can't wait to be able to work on and tell you all about after all the testing!! (:
Hope you all are doing well!! Take care!!

Okay.. so I wore this on Wednesday...when it was just really warm..all of a sudden.. agh.. weather weirdness yet again..
I absolutely love pairing knits over collared shirts~ obsezzed with the look it gives~~

colors
Today was yet another late start day. I was able to obtain some extra sleep, which is always nice. It was sunny outside, yet still chilly... and it's supposed to heat up in the next two days... ......why, california....why is your weather so bipolar?
Yes, well...today I wore a pink sweatshirt over a chiffon peter pan collared shirt. Didn't want to think too much about my outfit.. it was just one of those days.
I actually bought this sweatshirt a couple of years ago at forever21; since it was on sale for like...6 bucks?... everyone, and I mean everyone had this sweatshirt, so I decided to sew some sequins on to make it a little different.. I haven't worn this in so long.. it's been buried under the mountainous amount of clothes in my drawers. I decided to pull it out today to wear. (: I paired it with a peter pan collared blouse from 'cotton on' that my lovely friends got me for my birthday and some jeans and my cathy jean boots. Simple, and easy.
Afterschool, my two friends and I went to Rite Aid to snatch up some makeup products and got some frozen yogurt afterwards.
I bought some revlon lipsticks (all on sale for $4.99!) I actually snatched up the color "sassy mauve" on a whim. I normally don't gravitate towards those types of colors, but somehow it really caught my eye. Can't wait to use these!!
A maybelline high shine lipstick in fruit punch. I have this in coral lustre, and I really enjoy the formulation of these lipsticks, so I had to get another one. (:
I had a $3 dollar off coupon for revlon nail varnish, so I decided to pick this up. (the price was only $2 and some odd cents after coupon!!) The color is so intriguing! Very unique; I don't have anything like this in my polish collection. I tried to capture the duo-chrome because it's so cool. It flashes green and purple - depending on the lighting. I think this may be a close dupe for butter london's knackered nail polish.
Ecstatic about these new products. I can't wait to try them all out. Well, it is now getting late..and I'm quite tired.. (Hah! it's only 10:20... i'm such an old 17 year old..can't even stay up! >__>) Hope you all had a wonderful day! take care!

spring makeup inspiration
Now that the weather is getting warmer (actually no that's a lie, the weather has been crazy sporadic - rain, wind, cold, and heat all in one week...haha, that rhymed....anyway...), and spring is just around the corner, I've been constantly looking at spring makeup. Seeing photos from the spring 2012 runway shows and observing the makeup has really inspired me and has gotten me really eager for the weather to get warmer so I can sport some of these looks.
I've compiled a bunch of my favorite photos and makeup looks from various spring fashion shows. The two looks that I really really reeeeeeeally like are the 'fresh faced' look and the coral/orange lip. I'm currently obsessing over coral/orange lips and have the urge to go out and buy some more lipsticks.. (even though I'm running low on $$$.... agghhhh).

The "fresh faced" look is one that I generally love. I enjoy minimal/light makeup all year round, but it's especially pretty in the spring. The first three pictures are from the Dolce and Gabbana spring 2012 runway and I was immediately drawn to the pinks/golds in the makeup. The fourth photo is from Oscar de la Renta show. The minimal makeup look is always in style, in my opinion. With the nudes and light, natural pink flush, I think it's absolutely gorgeous!! The last photo is from the Chanel runway and again, just a very pretty, natural look. (The pearl accents in Karlie's hair are so cool!!)
Onto the fun makeup!! Gahhhh, the pop of color is just ah-mazing. The first photo is from tumblr and the rest are from the Jason Wu spring 2012 runway. I'm normally not attracted to this bright and bold of a lip, but for some reason I'm just in love with this look!! I love the contrast that it has against any outfit. Now, if only I had the confidence to rock a bold lip like this...I would, but this spring I'll be rocking a less bright orange and more of the peachy/coral lip.
........all this makeup inspiration makes me want to go out and buy some lipsticks... however, I'm constantly reminded by the dwindling amount of cash that I have....so I must refrain myself from going too crazy..-waits for buy one get one sales at the drugstore- It's funny 'cause I'm not much of a lip makeup person, yet I like buying a lot of lipsticks and have a ever growing wishlist of lipsticks that I lust over.....hmm.../girlproblems

Back to School
School started for me yesterday and it was surprisingly more pleasant than I thought it would be. I came to school, not very optimistic. It didn't feel like I was starting a new year; It felt like I was going back to school after a long weekend. But, when I went into my classes I liked all my teachers and felt like it wasn't going to be all that bad. My pre-calculus teacher is also my physics teacher and I think she's awesome! I also really like my A.P. U.S. History teacher. He reminds me of those cheery, old grandfathers in animated movies with his glasses, receding hairline and awesome mustache. haha.
This was today's outfit. I had to wear my club t-shirt on the first day of school, so that's why there's no outfit post. I was originally going to wear this outfit on the first day anyway, so yeahhh. haha. (:

I wore this makeup look today and got tons of compliments. My friends would do a double-take and ask me, "Are you wearing green eyeliner?" before proceeding to say that it looks cool on me. I love wearing different colored eyeliners, especially green because it makes my eyes look super brown. (LOL, you can see the reflection in my eye.)
I'm pretty sure this year is going to be interesting. Lots more hard classes and lots of homework and effort. But, I know this year is going to teach me lots of new things, and it's definitely going to be a year of change. Good change. I realized yesterday when I was walking around on campus that I walked with a different stride and strut. A walk that was a lot more confident than the walk last year's Theresa possessed. I stood taller and straighter and I felt good about myself. It's time to kick it into full gear and start studying and getting good grades and go through a ton of self-discovery. High School definitely is a time of growth and I'm starting to see that growth.
I hope everyone that is in school has a great school year and good luck with all of your studies! Take care! (:
